Second Chances

I tore it down and fled the castle

I never thought it could be rebuilt

But here we are with eyes wide open,

hearts bare and broken.

We wore blind mens’ glasses

But finally rage broke the cage wide open

Daggers flew

Twisted

Shoved

And reentered

But now, let’s see what happens.

Pieces to be mended

By questions finally spoken

Answers that bleed the truth

Of the moments old and forgotten.

Now a dagger spins upon the table

The emotions are honest and potent

Where this story goes

Depends upon what the fates have woven.
